Hello, I’m Heather.

Writer

Ritualist

Explorer of Realms

Seems like all my life I’ve been trying to figure out where I belong. Maybe you too?

I thought it might be to a place. Maybe a person. An identity or achievement. But each time I put up a flag, life changed, or I changed. Life lesson: belonging is fraught.

I created my first ritual as a child, baptizing my cat’s newborns, giving them each a name (and then giving them all away). Daily writing came along shortly after. I had no idea these two practices would one day lead me to the truest belonging I’ve come to know: the territory of my own heart.

I blend writing and art with ritual and healing. This is how I take care of myself, find meaning, and connect to me, you, and all the realms.

Do you know what’s astounding? The world is full of magic. I’m happy you’re here.

I’ll Never Leave My Hair Again

A couple times a year I get my hair cut. Six inches drop to the floor as I’m carved, once again, out of my lion’s mane. But until recently, I hadn’t thought about using my own hair for rituals. Now, I’ll never go back to seeing it dropped into a waste bin.
